Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) decided to move references to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against "Jiyala officers" posted in Sindh for pre-poll rigging, Business Recorder learnt on Saturday. In this connection, PML-N has constituted five-member "Election Committee" in Sindh with mandate to monitor pre-election situation and to devise the strategy in this regard, sources inside the PML-N Sindh told.

They said that maiden meeting of election committee would be held today on (December 23), here at residence of Liaqat Jatoi. When contacted, Liaqat Ali Jatoi, head of this committee told Business Recorder that PPP has planned to rig the next general election not only in Sindh but throughout the country so it's our job to counter its strategy and monitor the pre-election situation, he added. "Mian Nawaz Sharif had approved the formation of an election committee in Sindh and he made me its head while I have appointed four members of the committee including Irfanullah Marwat, Salim Zia, Dr Bahadur Dahri and Shafiq Khoso", he said.

He said that would also hold a press conference after the meeting to tell the media about the committee and its mandate, he added. He said that election committee would monitor the current situation of Sindh and planning of PPP for pre-poll rigging. Former Chief Minister Sindh alleged that PPP has managed to place their own people "Jiyalas" on many important administrative posts in every department only with purpose of rigging in next election.

"We are working on the list of said officers particularly in Sindh police, education, revenue and other departments and we would definitely move references to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in this regard" he claimed. He said that PML-N Sindh chapter would not allow PPP to manage pre-poll rigging and if they would try to do this, they would face strong opposition by the workers of PML-N. Shafiq Khoso, member of the committee said that election committee would monitor the political situation emerged in Sindh. He said that in Jacobabad, many postings of officers, who are Jiyalas of PPP, were made for pre-poll rigging.
